Mood Board Monday

Happy Monday dear readers — Hope everyone has a good week as we look forward to the last holiday weekend of the summer and dive into September next week (umm woah!). Before we get to the actual weddings (it’s been all showers and bachelorettes for me this summer), I’ve got a mood board full of summery yellow details from my (almost) sissy’s shower.

We threw her a champagne brunch complete with mimosas and an omelette man. Mason jars tied with burlap ribbon and raffia (made by my sister) were filled with sunflowers on every table. Each guest received a wooden spoon with the inscription “The Perfect Recipe” — a nod to the bride’s love for cooking, as well as homemade lemon bars.

It was a perfect summer afternoon… And now I’m ready for the fall weddings to begin!

I hope everyone had a great weekend — I really can’t get over how it’s August already! Today’s mood board is a little bachelorette party photo collage to recap this bride-to-be’s girls weekend in Nantucket. It was the perfect weekend complete with white wine spritzers on the beach and an epic late night dance party!

We were even successful in getting the bride to sport the traditional bachelorette sash and veil, as well as some pretty awesome sunglasses. Amazon is great for accessories like these — You can purchase the wayfarers here.

Have a great week, darling readers!

I’m really loving today’s mood board — It’s just so pretty! Do you agree? Since we’re in the heart of summer, this coral color palette is right in season and really makes for a lovely wedding color. Whether it’s in your invitations, like this watercolored invitation suite — or in your bridesmaid’s dresses, like this perfect print by Amsale — or for your bridesmaid’s robes, like these from my favorite robe shop, Love Ophelia (remember this post?!) — coral is a great summer wedding color.

What are your other favorite summer wedding colors?

Even though I don’t know how it’s the last day of June, between the excitement of the World Cup and the Fourth of July just days away, I’m certainly feeling very patriotic. There’s also something about summer that feels quintessential American to me. It’s also very nostalgic…but I digress.

Today’s mood board is red, white and blue in honor of the country I’m proud to call home. Donuts seem to be a weakness for me these days, but the ones above are almost too pretty to eat. Patriotic high heels?! They’d pair nicely with a pair of white skinnies. These stars and stripes straws might be the simplest DIY I’ve come across — and would make the perfect addition to your holiday cocktail. Since I’m drawn to all things navy, I would wear this swiss dot dress to any event, but it would also make an adorable bridesmaid dress for a summer wedding. And finally our grand old flag — a simple reminder of our freedom and the beauty of a summer night at dinner this past weekend.

Hooray for a short week! You can do it, lovies!

How was your weekend?! It seems like everyone’s summer plans are in high gear — It certainly is a busy, yet fun time of the year! How about some hot pink for a summer Monday? It definitely is one of my go-to summer colors — and I came up with some chic ways to incorporate the bright hue in your wedding details.

Kate Spade heels. Space 46 tulle skirt (Shower or rehearsal dinner outfit?). Blood orange margaritas as a signature drink (recipe here). Lily Pulitzer lace dress — Great to wear as a wedding guest. Plus, you can rent this dress from Rent The Runway! I think they’re all fun ways to add a pop of color to your wedding without going overboard!

How was everyone’s weekend? It may be a rainy Monday morning, but flowers make everything better right? Plus, it was such a gorgeous weekend (by me at least).

‘Tis the season for peonies, which is what today’s mood board is all about. Peonies in your bridal bouquet, peonies in your bridesmaids’ bouquets, peonies in your centerpieces, peonies on your kitchen table. Get ’em before they’re gone ladies!

But if your event is post-peony season, there are always these flowers — Remember this post?!?

I may not have made it to the beach this weekend, but it certainly feels like summer is here. And I’ll take it! With my mom and step dad’s upcoming wedding anniversary, I started to reminisce — and think about beach wedding details. Between their wedding (which is where I got my start in wedding planning!) and a good friend’s wedding, both on the beaches of New Jersey, I was able to scrounge up some old photos that don’t seem old at all.

These beach wedding details are timeless — seashells, starfish, sand and a light blue & white color palette will always make for the perfect beach affair! PS. Those centerpieces with the shells and votives in the sand were made by yours truly (thank you very much).

Happy Monday! With the warmer weather and Memorial Day weekend almost upon us, I’m drawn to pretty pink flowers and lush green grass and the preppy, yet classic color combination of pink & green. After the backyard BBQ I attended this weekend (here), I just want to be outdoors and throw my own backyard bash complete with homemade floral arrangements, summery decor and refreshing cocktails. Speaking of which, this watermelon cocktail looks divine {recipe here} – the perfect pink & green signature drink!

Pink & green may be too preppy for your taste, but like I said it’s a classic — and will never go out of style for a wedding or shower theme.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend – It certainly was a beautiful one! We hosted Mother’s Day brunch and it was a hit! We served the blueberry “American champagne” above from our trip to Renault Winery the other weekend. It made for a pretty little cocktail, which made me think of other ways to incorporate blueberries and shades of blue in a wedding. Floral patterns are huge right now — and I’m especially loving the look of the bridesmaid’s dresses above!

Wishing you all a wonderful week – and a very, happy birthday to my mother-in-law! So many May babies in this family!

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I couldn’t not do a Mexican-themed mood board today. There are just so many fun fiesta ideas out there! From flags, to cakes, to aqua frescas.

I’m loving Samantha’s rehearsal dinner from the blog Could I Have That? Today’s first image shows her flower-lined tables — See the whole event here. What a fun way to celebrate the night before your wedding!

Hope everyone’s week gets off to a good start — especially if margaritas and tacos are involved tonight!
