Mood Board Monday

Happy Monday dear readers — Hope everyone has a good week as we look forward to the last holiday weekend of the summer and dive into September next week (umm woah!). Before we get to the actual weddings (it’s been all showers and bachelorettes for me this summer), I’ve got a mood board full of summery yellow details from my (almost) sissy’s shower.

We threw her a champagne brunch complete with mimosas and an omelette man. Mason jars tied with burlap ribbon and raffia (made by my sister) were filled with sunflowers on every table. Each guest received a wooden spoon with the inscription “The Perfect Recipe” — a nod to the bride’s love for cooking, as well as homemade lemon bars.

It was a perfect summer afternoon… And now I’m ready for the fall weddings to begin!

{event recap} Brides & Bubbly

Last night’s Brides & Bubbly was another big success! I love bringing together local small businesses and meeting new brides in the throws of wedding planning — Those were the highlights for me!

The evening started with a rockin’ yoga class in the Treehouse — Followed by post-practice mini facials with Rodan + Fields two-step process. While sipping bubbly and raspberry white iced tea from Do You Tea, guests browsed our shopping room and chatted with Elana from Super Color Fashionistic about styling tips for everything from your rehearsal dinner to wedding guest attire!

We also introduced the WiO Bachelorette Kit — The perfect way to kick off any girl’s weekend!!

IMG_3344Thank you to everyone who came out last night! Special thanks to Lauren, Elana, Kelley, Noël & Lisa! Already looking forward to our next event!

Brides, Bubbly – Breathe & Browse!

brides-bubbly-rodan-fieldsWho’s ready for Brides & Bubbly #3?! As the summer winds down, it’s getting awfully close to what has become one of the most popular month’s to get married… September. So what better time for another fun event!

I hope you’ll join me tomorrow at Work it Out’s Treehouse for a yoga class (only a few spots left!), mini facials by Rodan + Fields and bridal styling tips from Super Color Fashionistic.

Yoga starts at 7pm. Bubbly at 8pm. See you there!

Bachelorette Party Extras

There’s no doubt in my mind that the best part of bachelorette parties is getting all your best girlfriends in the same place, staying up too late and ending the night with a dance party and copious pillow talk (because you’ll definitely be sharing a bed with one of these ladies). But you’re also there to spoil the bride-to-be — and what better way than a few fun personalized surprises and extra goodies for your girls!

For my soon-to-be sister-in-law’s recent bachelorette party, we surprised her with personalized tank tops and mini cans of champagne tied up with a cute straw. Take a look!

{event recap} Brides & Bubbly

The second Brides & Bubbly event was such a success! It’s really an honor to be able to collaborate with such talented women – and I have so many people to thank!

Niki, the owner of Up & Out – Hoboken’s own blowout bar, graciously opened her doors to all of us for the evening. She herself did a demo of her bridal hair services (check out those gorgeous curls in the photos below) — and had their resident makeup artist, Jillian, demo her bridal makeup services.

Jacquelyn, of Eventfully, Jacquelyn, was there to offer her wedding planning services — and I, along with the other women of Work It Out, promoted our new bridal packages, the “I Do” kits (full list of package details here).

I’ll quick rambling and have the pictures tell the rest! Thank you to everyone who attended – and hope to see you at the next event!

What to Get Your Shower Hostess

Hosting a bridal shower, like any event, can be hard work. Especially with all the ideas popping up on Pinterest these days (remember this post?!) — It’s not a competition ladies, stick with things that compliment your guest-of-honor. Anyway, I digress. But as a bride, know that your hostess will put in a lot of extra time to make your shower perfect — and it’s nice to thank her in a special way.

Most likely, your mom or bridesmaids will be hosting your shower and you’ve probably already got some gifts up your sleeve for them come your wedding day. But maybe another woman in your family has offered to host the shower or a friend is graciously opening up her home for the occasion. There’s no need to go crazy with additional bridesmaid’s gifts or totally break your wedding budget, but if someone is hosting your shower in their home, it’s always nice to thank them with a little something.

A bottle of bubbly is always my go-to housewarming gift and it works perfectly for a hostess gift too! Since it’s summer, I always have rosé on hand (don’t we all?) — And this Juvé Y Camps Brut Rosé is my new fav. Don’t let the color fool you — It’s dry and delicious! This double wine tote is the baby sister to your classic Lands’ End beach bag, and is also an adorable gift bag for your wine. Not to mention it’s $9.99!

IMG_2432When in doubt, flowers always, always make the perfect hostess gift. Every girl likes flowers and a simple bouquet is not only thoughtful, but will make her smile all week long. Like I said, there’s no need to go overboard — These little things go a long way!

This week’s event was a huge success! As it was my first blogger event, I really am so happy with how it turned out. I love how the women of Hoboken support each other — This was apparent on Wednesday night. Many thanks to Shayla, of The Pretty Kitty, for hosting us — and to Noël and Lisa, of Work It Out, for co-hosting with me. Enjoy the photos of a wonderful evening — and be sure to scroll to bottom of the post for an amazing freebie!!
