Happy Birthday Tulle Wedding Skirts!

photo-3That’s right! This little blog turns one today! A whole year has gone by since I posted my first post — so in honor of the past year, I thought I’d do a little year in review.tutu pic 2It all started with a visiona passion for weddings — and a lot of ballet in my veins.

I created Mood Board Mondays (my favorite board above) — which proved to be a great way to showcase various wedding themes & trends.

There were various series of posts including: Trending, Today’s Tulle and My Best Friend’s Wedding Series, which took us through Danielle’s wedding planning journey. I also created a few How-to’s and DIYs including: the perfect eyebrow shaping, the perfect ribbon bouquet and the perfect whiskey ginger.
(Danielle & Mallory pictured above)

KWP-kerrycolinwedding-1531The Real Weddings features proved to be the most popular posts — as I knew they would be. I had the pleasure of working with so many amazing brides — Elizabeth, Heather, Jamie, Caroline, Erica, Erin, Katie, Callie, Danielle, Kerry & Mallory — and can’t wait to feature the brides I have in the pipeline! Thank you all!
(Colin & Kerry’s wedding, above, was definitely a highlight of 2014 for me)IMG_2535Brides & Bubbly was born! In partnership with Work it Out, I created a series of bridal events for local brides to come out, meet new vendors and share a glass of bubbly or two. We hosted five events — and will be back with more in 2015. Stay tuned!
(Photo from our very, first event in June)Cheney_1707_09072013_JK1221Of course, I shared many moments from my own wedding… The story behind choosing my Jenny Yoo bridesmaid dresses, a lovely feature on my Love Ophelia robes, decor inspiration… because those moments are what truly led me to start this blog. Paulie and I also celebrated our one year anniversary in September — and I can’t thank him enough for his continued support of me and this blog.

It’s been one heck of a year, with a fair share of ups and downs. But I have so much to be grateful for from starting my little blog — and so much to be grateful for in my life. Thank you for sticking with me readers — I owe it all to you!

Merry Merry

photoA nod to my favorite ballet, The Nutcracker, which I had the pleasure of seeing this holiday season. Just taking a minute to wish you all a happy holiday… I hope the next few days are spent with those you love. I’m looking forward to being with my favorite people and slowing down a bit…these days just go by too fast. Cherish your time, health & good fortune. And thank you, readers, for staying with me!

Merry Christmas! xo

{event recap} Brides & Bubbly

On Wednesday, we hosted our 5th Brides & Bubbly! (Seriously where do the months go?!) This time around we held the event at WiO’s River Studio, centered around an evening ride class so our brides-to-be could still get in their routine sweat-sesh. Post-class we had all sorts of goodies — Prosecco, cupcakes, shopping and coupons!

A huge thanks to this month’s partners — Elana of Super Color Fashionistic who brought clothing and jewelry from The Factory Boutique and Stella & Dot — Her styling services are amazing! Hudson Cakery for the insanely delicious salted caramel chocolate cupcakes — and Cork Wines & Spirits for the delightful prosecco!

wio_supercolor_bridesbubbly_insta_v2_r1Our monthly event is back tomorrow night, 10/22! If you haven’t had the chance to try a class at Work it Out, now’s the time — Reserve your bike in class before they’re full! {event recap} Brides & Bubbly

We pulled off another successful event last night — Thanks in part to a team of incredible women! The brides (and bridesmaids) of Hoboken joined us for a glass of prosecco, a cookie (or two) and to learn about the amazing local services of Luxe Face and Body and Work it Out.

Finding good and affordable bridal makeup services can be tricky — so last night’s brides were psyched to learn about Luxe’s services. We had brides signing up on the spot!

We also know you’re sometimes looking for an alternative to the boozy bachelorette bash, which is why we at Work it Out created the new Bachelorette Kit — a 90 minute class tailored to you and your girls, complete with post-class elixirs and snacks. The perfect way to kick off your festivities! We even raffled one off last night!

No event is complete without a sweet treat or something to take home — and Sweet Dani B’s couture cookies were no exception last night. Be sure to keep her mind for your favors!

September Brides & Bubbly

photo-7Looks like we’ve made this little event of mine a monthly thing! Know not all you readers are local, but if you are, hope you’ll join me and Work It Out for our September Brides & Bubbly at Luxe Face and Body.

It will be an evening of samples, sips & sweet treats! We’ll also be raffling off the chance to host a Bachelorette Party at Work It Out — a personalized 90 minute class for you and your girls complete with healthy snacks and elixirs. If you really wanted to, you could opt for a barre class with yours truly 😉

Doors will be open from 7 – 9 pm, so stop by at any time!

{local vendors} Sweet Dani B

I know I’ve mentioned before how great it is to see the small businesses of Hoboken supporting each other — But I’ve just got to say how much I love Hoboken!

This new-to-me vendor is nothing short of sweet… I’m so happy I get to share Sweet Dani B with all of you today and spotlight her sweet couture cookies! Take a look — They’re {almost} too pretty to eat!

IMG_3353When Dani found out about our one year anniversary, she basically jumped at the chance to create this gorgeous, and oh-so-appropriate, cookie box.

IMG_3360I just about squealed when she surprised me with these. I mean how adorable are the ballerina and bride?! Not to mention, the little details – and edible glitter!

Whether you’re wedding planning, shower planning or party planning, be sure to check out Sweet Dani B. She’ll create custom cookies as favors, desserts or wedding cake toppers! Besides the couture cookies, Dani also does custom paper goods.

Dani will be joining us at our next Brides & Bubbly — So if you’re in town, come to Luxe Face and Body next Wednesday, September 17 at 7pm for a sweet affair!

Thank you so much for the special cookies, Dani — You made my day!

One Year

Yesterday marked our one year anniversary — and what a year it has been! It’s funny though how time messes with your head — Sometimes it’s crazy to think how fast the past year went, and other times it feels like it’s been a lot longer than a year.

Either way, it’s all good and I’m excited to see what the next year has in store for us! Life isn’t always easy, but it’s certainly better with Paulie by my side. I couldn’t do it without him. Happy Anniversary babe! Cheers to us and to many more!

In honor of one year, I thought I’d share some favorite wedding photos that haven’t made it to the blog yet. Take a look at all our wedding photos here.
