Sometimes life works in mysterious ways. There are people who come into your life for a reason. Heather is one of those people. She is so full of positive energy and inspires me every time I step into her class – high intensity spin, no less. As a fitness instructor at Work It Out in Hoboken, NJ, Heather has left the corporate world to do what she loves – and I have her to thank for some big changes in my life (as well as this blog feature). It’s no coincidence that we got married within a month of each other – So without further adieu, I bring you, Heather!
When/where was your wedding?
Our wedding was on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, Massachusetts.
Tell me a little about your wedding style.
I would say our wedding was simply-traditional and simply-elegant. I didn’t want a big color palette and chose to stick with white-ivory and gold-champagne tones throughout. The Fairmont is a gorgeous venue to begin with so I really only needed some beautiful white roses (my flower choice!) with some other complimentary white flowers. I loved choosing all of our flowers and centerpieces and our vendor, Artistic Blossoms took the lead on my vision and nailed it.
My bridesmaids wore champagne dresses, my mother wore a gold dress and I wore ivory. The men wore simple black on black tuxes and Pat wore a black tux with ivory vest and tie.
Our photos came out exactly how I wanted!
What made your wedding dress you?
My dress was simple and special. There were some beautiful, yet subtle details that made the dress unique in its own way such as, the ribbon detail at the top, the strand of buttons that ran down the back of the entire dress and the belt I wore that added a bit of elegance and sparkle to my look.
As a fitness instructor, how did you get ready for the big day? Did you even need to change your daily routine?!
I lead a very routine and healthy life to begin with starting with my workouts, to my nutrition and to my sleep schedule. I didn’t really change too much and definitely didn’t deprive myself from anything. My goal was to stay healthy and feel my best, so I just stuck to what I knew would bring out the best in me.
After planning your wedding, what’s one piece of advice you would give brides?
I have a couple – 1) Don’t stress out! 2) Have fun planning! It’s your wedding day!
Thank you so much, Heather! Your wedding truly was classic and elegant, with a little sparkle!
